About our Pathways Course
Pathways is a 47 Week course for 15.5*- Under 20 year olds who work toward NCEA (National Certificate in Educational Achievement) Levels 1 & 2.
The course is ideal for young people who have left school without enough qualifications and would like another chance to work toward completing their study. While on the course, trainees will complete an average of 80 credits from a selection of Unit Standards.
Applicants for the course will be interviewed first before being accepted into the programme. The course of study for each individual will be slightly different as trainees start with different qualifications. Each trainee will be encouraged to develop a plan for their education and career.
Pathways offers the opportunity for young people to re-engage with their education, work in a friendly, supportive environment and take part in a range of community based activities.
Purpose
The NCEA qualification is designed to be accessible so that learners are able to demonstrate competencies which will enable them to pathway onto skilled work and/or higher learning. This qualification is intended to act as a springboard from which the learner may progress towards other higher level qualifcations.
You can build up Unit standards until you have sufficient credits to obtain your NCEA or National Certificate in Early Childhood qualification.
